We empower life scientists and science communicators to achieve their career goals with personalized coaching, deep industry insights, and compassionate support at every step of the way.
Enable all life science professionals to thrive in their careers and make meaningful impacts on human health and the world.
I have a combination of strengths and experience unlike those of virtually all other career coaches. I hold a PhD in biochemistry, combined with 30+ years of senior leadership experience spanning the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, non-profit global health, and the U.S. government sectors. I’ve built a deep understanding of what it takes to be successful in these organizations. Whether you're a scientist or communicator, it is critically important to understand what life science companies or organizations are seeking when hiring new staff. I've got real-world experience vs. others that can only coach from the sidelines.
Now, I’m dedicating all my time to helping you hone your job search skills; get the jobs you want; select or change your career path; get out of a toxic job situation; or advance your career.
I am also unique because I've developed a proprietary system called Impact Navigator™ that empowers you at every step of the job search process.
Impact Navigator™ is your custom roadmap to career excellence—equipping you with the tools and strategies you need to stand out, get hired, and grow. With Impact Navigator™, you get a unique, step-by-step job search experience, complete with powerful toolkits to support you every step of the way.
This process distinguishes my approach from all other coaches and mentors. Each step in the Impact Navigator™ process helps you develop and maintain a position of strength and confidence at each stage of your job search.
The Impact Navigator™ process focuses your attention on your past successes and key outcomes you’ve delivered ¾ and shows you how to leverage those successes to make you stand out from the crowd. Learn how to craft stand-out cover letters, resumes, and employee communications, as well as gain the confidence you to need to ace your job interviews and advance in your career.
Moreover, the learning and career tools you develop with Impact Navigator™will continue to serve you throughout the remainder of your career.
My clients are life scientists and science communications professionals at all stages of their careers and from across the United States.
Clients typically turn to me when they are facing a career-related challenge and need my help. I partner with them to solve these challenges, get them unstuck, and help them reach their career goals. The carer coaching program is customized to meet each client's needs. I partner with clients all over the United States, one-on-one, using videoconferencing software.
Here are some of the common problems faced by my clients:
Are you facing any of these, or other, career challenges?

Don't Delay!
After earning my Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), I conducted research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, MD. Here, I was the first to clone and express the Immunoglobulin E (IgE) receptor, the protein the triggers allergy attacks in humans. This work paved the way to screen for new type of anti-allergy medicines and was called “a landmark achievement” by the New York Times.
In my early years, I spent the first portion of my pharmaceutical industry career conducting drug discovery and health sciences research, including serving as the Therapeutic Strategy Director for a 40-person Osteoporosis research team and building a new Diseases of Aging research area at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), made up of over 35 research and development staff.
As time went on, I became increasingly dedicated to enhancing the impact of science, either by strengthening the operational practices that underpin scientific research or through leading scientific organizations to communicate more effectively both internally and externally. For example, I served as Chief Communications Officer for the U.S. Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), where I led a team of over 115 staff and implemented a major business transformation program.
On behalf of GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers Association (PhRMA), I served as an educator and advocate on behalf the entire pharmaceutical industry by conducting Capitol Hill briefings for Senators and Congress members and by hosting more than 400 dignitaries for onsite VIP visits.
I am also highly experienced at administrating large-scale business operations functions, empowering science-based organizations by optimizing business practices, leading transformational operations projects, and monitoring business performance. For example, I served as Director of Business Operations for global Drug Discovery at GlaxoSmithKline, a division of over 3,500 staff across 15 international sites. I went on to hold operations leadership roles at Seagen (now Pfizer) and AstraZeneca pharmaceuticals.
Throughout my 30+ year career, I found that the most rewarding and impactful aspect of my life has been mentoring and actively partnering with clients to help them achieve their career goals. For example, since graduation, I've enjoyed giving back something to my colleagues at UCLA by serving as an official mentor for UCLA STEM students.
I’m now dedicating the remainder of my career to helping you, the life scientist or science communications professional, to address your challenges and realize your career goals and dreams.
Get the jobs you want, chart or change your career path, get out of a toxic situation, excel in your role, or seek advancement.
Better understand your clients' science and achieve your business goals by communicating with impact to journalists and other key audiences..
